To ensure Obama's security and so that he cannot be spied on throughout the duration of the summit, his security advisers have requested (read "demanded") that all furniture be removed from rooms on his floor at Brisbane's Marriott Hotel.
In order to comply, the Queensland hotel has stripped bare an entire floor.
Hotel suites will be swept over with a fine-tooth comb by Obama's security outfit for any trace of communication devices, and secure phone lines installed to allow the President to conduct private calls.
The hotel will also be within the cordoned off security zone, allowing only those with accreditation to enter.
